About Hero Hastur
Hero Hastur, first unveiled as a 600cc street-naked concept at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, was jointly developed by Hero and its new technology partner Erik Buell Racing. The front headlight with two projector lamps, muscular tank with black casting under the bikes electrical, bar end mirrors mounted on either side of the alloy-finished flat handlebars, sporty velvet-finished seats with fancy yellow stitching design most of the bodywork.
Hero Hastur Preview
Hero had revealed the concept version of this 600cc street-naked bike at the 12th edition of Auto Expo in 2014. Touted as a global product, Hero Hastur is built by Hero MotorCorp and its US partner Erik Buell Racing. The concept version also featured Hero’s ‘geosic tubular chassis’ which uses components like trellis frame and trellis swingarm. The probable suspension set up comprises of 43mm adjustable inverted forks up front and adjustable monoshock at rear. From the looks of it, Hastur appears to be a sporty bike featuring a distinguished styling. Besides the bike may feature comfort equipment such as electric start, pass lights and step-up seat/split seat.
Looks
The head lamp cluster in front comes with two projector lamps. Hastur’s muscular stance is elevated by the robust tank (15 litres capacity) highlighted by black casting beneath the bike’s electrical. Either side of alloy finished flat handlebars feature mounted bar end mirrors. Seats are finished in velvet and the bright yellow stitching on the seat matches well with the majority of bodywork. Moreover, the assertive styling and subtle body work goes well with its street-naked look. Dimensionally Hastur measures 2015mm long, 820mm wide and 1120mm high. Ground clearance measuring 130mm should contribute towards adept performance.
Engine specification and Transmission
Power is likely to be drawn from a 620cc, four stroke, liquid-cooled and parallel-twin engine featuring a patented CSI cylinder. Expected maximum power for the 620cc engine is 78 Bhp at 9600 RPM along with top torque of 72 Nm at 7750 RPM. A six-speed constant mesh gearbox is likely to be paired to the engine. With an expected power to weight ratio of 493.12 BHP per ton, there is going to be ample power on offer. Hero claims that the bike accelerates to 100 kmph from rest within 3.8 seconds and hits top speed mark of 240 kmph.
Hero Hastur Competition
In the 600cc segment, Hero Hastur will gun straight against rivals like Kawasaki ER-6n, Triumph Street Triple and Honda CB500F.
Hero Hastur Expected Price
Hero is expected to price Hastur between Rs 4 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.
